‘Modern Family’ season 8’s episode 22, titled “The Graduates,” will follow the blended Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan as they prepare for Luke and Manny’s graduation day. Meanwhile, Manny’s biological father Javier is set to wreak havoc when he returns to take his son out on a wild night of celebration to which Jay will be forced to fix up afterwards.
The synopsis for “The Graduates” posted on TV Guide reads, “In the Season 8 finale, Javier (guest star Benjamin Bratt) shows up for Manny's (Rico Rodriguez) high-school graduation and takes him out for a wild night of celebration, but Jay (Ed O’Neill) must step in to pick up the pieces. Meanwhile, the rest of the Pritchett clan get ready for Luke (Nolan Gould) and Manny's big day.”
It seems that Manny’s biological father will step back in the picture just as he is about to graduate. Javier is set to take his son out on a wild night out to celebrate and may seemingly cause problems for Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Jay (Ed O’Neill), as the latter has to step in to fix things. It doesn’t seem to be a very happy family reunion with Javier around.
The blended Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan will have to come to terms with Luke and Manny’s big life event as they prepare for the two boy’s graduation day in school. It seems that they will have to deal with strong emotions when they realize that the two now-grown up boys will eventually need to lead their own lives.
It will be interesting to see Gloria and Claire (Julia Bowen), specifically, as they come to terms with their sons possibly going off on their own following graduation.
Meanwhile, seasons 9 and 10 of the popular series has recently been renewed on ABC. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it remains unclear whether the tenth season will be the show’s last. Co-creator Steve Levitan, "We are beyond thrilled that we get to spend more time with these characters, these amazing actors, our ridiculously talented writers and our incredible crew — all of whom are like family to us. And the good kind of family, not the kind that argues with you all the time."
‘Modern Family’ season 8’s episode 22, titled “The Graduates,” is scheduled to air on ABC on May 17, 2017. It was directed by Steven Levitan and written by Jon Pollack, Jeffrey Richman, and Chuck Tatham.
