A planned more than ₹186.9 billion payment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is set to reach more than 93.4 million farmers during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Oct. 30-31 Gujarat visit.
The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare says the 24th installment will go directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) lists a rounded estimate of about ₹190 billion. EconoTimes previously covered the planned 24th installment.
The agenda includes more than ₹140 billion in project announcements during the Banaskantha visit. Other scheduled work spans Gujarat, including two proposed Ahmedabad Metro extensions. One is a five-station, more than 6-kilometer connection from Koteshwar Road to the airport, known as Phase 2A. Phase 2B would link GIFT City and Shahpur with three stations along a route longer than 3.3 kilometers. The itinerary also lists an estimated ₹26 billion expansion of Ahmedabad-Mehsana Road (State Highway-41), planned to increase the road from four lanes to eight.
Modi is scheduled to flag off the Ahmedabad (Sabarmati)-Varanasi Express and the Mehsana-Becharaji-Sabarmati MEMU service. The Anganwadi program carries a stated investment of ₹8 billion and is expected to benefit more than 400,000 people. It includes foundation stones for 4,030 new child-friendly Anganwadi Centres and the opening of 361 completed facilities.
The itinerary records 521 completed Agriculture Infrastructure Fund projects, valued collectively at about ₹49.5 billion. It also schedules the start of on-ground work for 12 horticulture clusters, expected to cover about 146,000 hectares and benefit more than 130,000 farmers.
Under PM-KISAN, eligible farmer families with cultivable land can receive ₹2,000 per installment, with three payments totaling ₹6,000 a year. The ministry says more than ₹4.47 trillion had been disbursed through the first 23 installments. On Oct. 31, the schedule moves to Ekta Nagar for projects worth more than ₹4 billion and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas events marking Patel’s 151st birth anniversary.
