Money20/20 scheduled an Oct. 18 discussion of the proposed Digital Asset Market Clarity Act for financial institutions, weeks after senators rejected cloture on a motion to proceed to the bill.

The organizer’s agenda named Digital Chamber CEO Cody Carbone and former White House Crypto Council executive director Patrick Witt as speakers for the 30-minute session, with Mary Ann Francis as moderator. Money20/20 lists its U.S. event for Oct. 18-21 in Las Vegas.

Organizers set the session to examine how financial institutions may respond to the proposal over the coming months. The agenda records a scheduled session, rather than whether it took place.

Witt’s temporary White House assignment had expired before the scheduled panel. A White House official confirmed the change in an Oct. 14 post relayed by journalist Eleanor Terrett.

The bill would set federal standards for digital commodities, assigning oversight functions to the CFTC and SEC.

Senators voted 49-50 on Sept. 15 against invoking cloture on the motion to proceed to the measure; one senator did not vote. Cloture would have ended debate on the motion to take up the bill. The result did not settle whether the measure would pass.
