Motherson Sumi Wiring India Limited reported a 35.1% annual increase in standalone second-quarter profit, while ETMarkets.com reported a roughly 13% gain in its shares during Monday trading.
ETMarkets.com’s update, timestamped at 11:56 p.m. ET Sunday, Nov. 1 (04:56 UTC Monday), said the shares touched ₹39.70 on the BSE, about 13% above the previous close. A Ventura market snapshot at 11:01 p.m. ET Sunday (04:01 UTC Monday) showed ₹38.89, up 10.67%. The Ventura figure preceded ETMarkets.com’s update by 55 minutes.
The unaudited standalone results for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, put profit after tax at ₹223.37 crore, up from ₹165.34 crore in the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue from operations reached ₹4,053.83 crore, compared with ₹2,761.86 crore, a 46.8% increase. The board approved the results Oct. 30, according to a filing with the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE).
The company linked the quarter’s growth to a larger volume of customer business and more wiring content in each vehicle. It also said it took part in launches of new electric vehicle (EV) and internal-combustion engine (ICE) models, while production increased at greenfield sites.
Motherson Sumi Wiring India cited elevated copper prices and wider cost inflation as pressures on performance. Management said it was focused on improving operating efficiency and maintaining working-capital discipline. Chairman Vivek Chaand Sehgal said, “Our resilient performance reflects the continued trust of our customers and strength of our executional capabilities.”
The NSE filing names the company’s segment as “Wiring Harness & its Components” and says it has no reportable segments under Ind AS 108.
