Developers of “NBA 2K20” finally revealed more gameplay details since the title was announced at the start of the month. The MyGM mode is getting major improvements, and fans can check out MyCareer in the next few weeks for free.
When “NBA 2K20” was unveiled in early July, 2K Games announced Anthony Davis is this year’s main cover athlete while newly-retired Dwyane Wade is featured on the Legend Edition. The developers also released a short teaser trailer that confirmed WNBA players are going to be part of the upcoming iteration. After several weeks, 2K finally revealed more gameplay details starting with the MyGM 2.0.
‘NBA 2K20’ gameplay: What changes to expect on MyGM
The MyGM game mode was first introduced in 2015 in replacement of the Franchise Mode. They have similar concepts where gamers get to experience being a basketball franchise general manager in the virtual sense. In a blog post for “NBA 2K20,” developers explained that they want MyGM to be recognized more than just characters’ conversations, so new and improved features are underway.
On the list of the new features in MyGM 2.0 on “NBA 2K20,” one of the most interesting is the chance to manage a roster’s sponsorships and branding. Meanwhile, the post also details how vital gameplay features are reinvented for a more in-depth GM experience. For example, one of the biggest improvements is in the leveling system.
In the original MyGM, gaining more experience is reliant on the user profile’s status. The MyGM 2.0 on “NBA 2K20” requires players to win more games and accomplish more tasks to level up.
‘NBA 2K20’ release date: How to access free gameplay demo
The developer’s blog post about MyGM 2.0 is quite comprehensive and gives fans enough idea of what to expect from the upcoming game. As for “NBA 2K20’s” MyCareer game mode, 2K is doing something more than just a blog post. Developers are offering early access to the MyCareer mode to allow people to get a feel of the revamped MyPlayer.
Fans do not even have to pre-order “NBA 2K20” to join the MyCareer early access. They only have to download the “NBA 2K20” Demo that will be available on Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 12:01 am PT on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The game will be officially released on Friday, Sept. 6.
