POSCO’s collaboration with local social venture firm Zainer to produce eco-knives by upcycling scrap metal was unveiled on crowdfunding platform Wadiz.
The funding project will continue until Nov. 29.
The eco-knives will be made with iron scraps produced at the recycling plant of POSCO O&M, a facility management unit of POSCO Engineering & Construction Co., in Pohang, South Korea.
This upcycling project, which will forge, polish, and quench iron to produce blades is a part of POSCO O&M’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
The profits will be donated to environmental organizations and agencies.
