One of TV’s most famous team of crime fighters is back this week with a new episode. However, there will only be a couple of installments left for “NCIS” season 16 in 2018.
At the moment, it is confirmed there will be two new episodes to air this month before “NCIS” season 16 goes on its usual holiday hiatus. On Tuesday, Dec. 4, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and McGee (Sean Murray) will go on a stakeout mission in the hopes of solving a long-time cold case.
This week’s new episode is the ninth installment for “NCIS” season 16 titled “Tailing Angie.” It is a reference to one of the important guest characters to be played by Cassi Thomson. Gibbs will also interview a guy named Lew (Jeff Pierre) in the hopes of coming up with a lead on a “high-profile” robbery that targeted a Navy Admiral.
Then, another all-new “NCIS” season 16 episode is slated to air next Tuesday, Dec. 11 which is also going to be the show’s Christmas 2018 special. The teaser photos CBS released for the episode titled “What Child Is This?” shows that the squad room is already decorated with well-lit Christmas trees and ornaments.
Aside from opening a homicide investigation where a Navy veteran is killed, McGee, Bishop (Emily Wickersham), and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) are seen looking after a newborn baby. The team will find the baby near the murder victim and will be tasked to find its next of kin before they can all go home for their Christmas plans in “NCIS” season 16 episode 10.
The “NCIS” season 16-holiday break officially begins after episode 10. A CBS press release confirmed that the show’s regular timeslot on Tuesday, Dec. 18 will be occupied with a rebroadcast of the “NCIS” season 15 episode titled “The Numerical Limit.” To avoid missing the show too much, “Fallout” (season 15 episode 23) will air on CBS on Saturday, Dec. 22.
CBS has yet to announce the “NCIS” season 16 return date in 2019. Fans can only hope that, just like seasons 14 and 15, it will happen within the first week of January. New episodes are released on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
