NEAR Protocol (NEAR) fell 6.28% over four hours to $4.94 on Binance on Friday, Oct. 16, a steeper drop than its separate 4.36% 24-hour decline, while liquidations were larger for long positions.

The Binance spot market for NEAR and Tether (USDT) displayed $4.94 at 1:25 p.m. ET (17:25 UTC). Its 24-hour measure covered a different period from the four-hour price comparison.

Long positions accounted for the larger share of the hourly tally: $760,000 in liquidations, versus $10,000 for shorts across Binance, Bybit and OKX.

A previous EconoTimes snapshot showed NEAR at $5.10 on Binance at 11:25 a.m. ET (15:25 UTC) Friday, when its 24-hour measure was up 1.43%. By 1:25 p.m. ET, both the quote and the 24-hour reading were lower.

The four-hour and 24-hour price figures use different periods; the liquidation tally covers a separate one-hour window.
