San Francisco, CA, Sept. 22, 2017 -- NORCAL Mutual Insurance Company proudly announces the establishment of the NORCAL Group Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides funding and support for healthcare initiatives in the communities in which its policyholders live and serve. Grant applications for qualifying programs are now being accepted, with the first cycle being awarded in December.

"NORCAL has a 40-plus-year legacy of giving and advocacy in the communities we serve to support the practice of good medicine, the betterment of local healthcare, and the wellness of caregivers. The NORCAL Group Foundation formalizes this commitment through a dedicated non-profit providing grant funding to charitable organizations and initiatives," NORCAL President and Chief Executive Officer Scott Diener said.
The Foundation will focus on supporting and enhancing three critical healthcare areas: patient care, patient safety, and physician wellness. Information on eligibility and application process can be found at norcalgroupfoundation.org. Deadline for the first cycle of funding is Oct. 27.
