The National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) and BSE Ltd. plan Nov. 8 Diwali trading, while reports of exchange schedules put the opening at 3:50 a.m. ET and show differing NSE closing times.

NSE’s Dec. 12, 2025, holiday circular confirms the Muhurat session for Diwali Laxmi Pujan but leaves its hours for a later announcement. Moneycontrol and the Free Press Journal reported the 3:50 a.m. ET (2:20 p.m. Indian Standard Time) opening from exchange circulars dated Oct. 19.

Before that opening, the reports allot 3:20-3:35 a.m. ET to block deals and 3:35-3:50 a.m. ET to the pre-open period. Reports of NSE’s timetable place pre-open order entry at 3:35–3:45 a.m. ET (2:05–2:15 p.m. IST), subject to random closure during the final two minutes, followed by matching and confirmation until 3:47 a.m. ET.

For NSE, the closing-auction rules determine when continuous trading stops. Cash-market shares with derivative contracts reach that cutoff at 4:45 a.m. ET (3:15 p.m. IST); other shares continue until 5 a.m. ET (3:30 p.m. IST). Reports of the Nov. 8 schedules describe the same distinction for NSE.

The exchanges also list Nov. 10 as a full-day holiday for Diwali-Balipratipada, as noted in EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of their 2026 holiday schedules.
