Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat) said its LNG carrier Al Mayeda remained operational after unidentified objects struck it in the Arabian Gulf on Oct. 30.

The company reported no crew injuries or environmental impact and said it was assessing the incident.

United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) separately reported an incident at 1800 UTC on Oct. 30, about 40 nautical miles south of Iran's Lavan Island. Warning 188-26 said a projectile hit a vessel on its port side and caused a fire. UKMTO said the crew were safe and no environmental impact had been reported at the time. The warning did not name the vessel as Al Mayeda and advised ships to transit cautiously while authorities investigated.

India's Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said in a social media post that the Marshall Islands-flagged vessel had 25 crew members, including six Indian seafarers, and all were safe. He said India was monitoring the situation and was in contact with the ship management company.
