“Narcos: Mexico” premiered on Nov. 16 and since it was released via Netflix, its 10 episodes were dropped all at once that day. Fans who binge-watched the explosive drama finished the series in one sitting so the ending was already revealed after hours of watching. Now, since it ended fast, fans started clamoring for season 2 and luckily their wish has been granted.
On Dec. 5, Netflix announced that it renewed “Narcos: Mexico” so it will be back for its second season. The announcement came in the form of a video trailer and fans have expressed their excitement.
Based on the clip, “Narcos: Mexico” did so well and it gained good feedback from various publishing outlets. It also exceeded the expectations of the Netflix bosses so it was an easy decision to renew the show.
Moreover, the drama was originally meant to be “Narcos” season 4 but Netflix produced a spin-off instead and it turned out to be a brilliant idea. Fans just loved the completed series although it featured new cast and location.
“Narcos: Mexico” is still about drug syndicates but it tackled the Guadalajara Cartel history. Since the story aimed to show the roots of the illegal drug trade, the producers shifted the location from to Colombia to Mexico. Michael Peña (Kiki Camarena) and Diego Luna (Félix Gallardo) led the cast of “Narcos” season 4 and they played their roles well in the 1980s-era based story plot.
In any case, the plot for the upcoming “Narcos: Mexico” is still unknown but it may pick up where season 1 left off. This means that it will continue with drug operations-related stories based in Mexico. Also, since Kiki Camarena is already dead in the story, it is interesting to see who will go after the bad guys this time.
“Narcos: Mexico” season 2 has no premiere date yet but it is already being planned. Most probably, fans will be able to see the next installment before 2019 ends.
