National Minority Supplier Development Council Recognizes Minority Business Enterprises for Outstanding Achievement

Detroit, Michigan, Oct. 25, 2017 -- At a black-tie Gala wrapping up its annual Conference and Business Opportunity Exchange, held this year in Detroit, October 23-25, Isiah Thomas, Chairman and CEO, Isiah International presented the National Minority Supplier Development Council awards ceremony to member corporations and minority business enterprises (MBEs) for their contributions to NMSDC’s goals in fueling business opportunities for minority-owned companies of all sizes. Honored as well were XX MSDC, named Regional Council of the Year.

Louis Green, NMSDC’s interim president, congratulated the honorees, saying, “We are truly proud to recognize the leaders among our corporate members, and the individuals who work to advance minority supplier diversity and development; and to recognize, too, the outstanding minority business enterprises in our network for their business growth and development, operational success, support of other minority businesses and active participation in the community.”

NMSDC Suppliers of the Year awardees were grouped by Region (North, South, West and Central) and by Class – Class 1 for companies with annual sales of less than $1 million; Class 2, annual sales of $1 to $10 million; Class 3, $10 to $50 million in sales, annually; and Class 4, with annual sales greater than $50 million.

Recognized in the Class 1 category were: for the Northern Region, Brownstone PR, a public relations agency, and for the Western Region, Sumnu Marketing, a marketing firm focused on small businesses.

In Class 2, the regional honorees were: for the Northern Region, CIEN+ which provides big data analytics and strategic marketing services; for the Western Region, ICE Safety Solutions, a CPR and First Aid training for childcare providers & coaches; for the Central Region, Mac Arthur Corporation, which provides custom labels, tags, decals, and die-cut components for a wide range of consumer and industrial applications; and for the Southern Region, Intellectual Concepts, a company that provides international and domestic health services, transit consulting, and information technology support to Federal departments, the US military, and State agencies

Class 3 awardees were: for the Northern Region, Saviance Technologies, a leading provider of technology and business consulting services to Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences organizations; for the Southern Region, Ampcus, a global leader in end-to-end IT Business Solutions and Services; for the Central Region, V2 Soft, Inc., a leading provider of IT services; and, for the Western Region, Blair, Church & Flynn, a civil engineering consulting firm.

Class 4 saw four awards: for the Northern Region, The RFC Group, a company that provides tailored and comprehensive workplace solutions; for the Southern Region, VDART, an emerging global leader in IT staffing solutions; for the Western Region, ATR International, Inc., a company providing clients with IT consultants and enterprise-wide staffing services; and for the Central Region: Select Source International, a certified consulting firm that specializes in candidate placement and staff augmentation.

XX MSDC’s award recognizes an exemplary affiliate council that demonstrates the programs, activities and accomplishments which establish it as a model of organization, operation and success. In accepting, XX MSDC’s president XX said, “The XX Minority Supplier Development Council is honored to receive this award.
