SK Telecom will set up a metaverse campus at the Korea University under a partnership to build a connected, smart, and integrated campus using virtual technology.
Korea University students will be able to access Ifland, SK Telecom's metaverse platform, for holding conferences, engaging in student activity, and carrying out team projects virtually.
SK Telecom aims to integrate a mobile identification system into the virtual platform by using a blockchain-based initial application.
Students currently need to physically carry various cards to access student halls or libraries. A virtual identification system gives students access to various school facilities using a single mobile device.
