FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 07, 2016 -- In a move to defend merchants against cybercrime, Netsurion, a leading provider of remotely-managed data and network security services for multi-location businesses, has partnered with CoCard, which will resell its managed firewall services.
This new partnership will help participating merchants fortify their networks against hackers by adding on Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance and network security to CoCard’s trusted merchant processing. Similar to a co-op, CoCard is a company comprised of independently owned and operated ISOs. Its 70+ offices will offer Netsurion’s services to their 15,000 small- to mid-sized merchants across the U.S.
Cybercrime has grown to epidemic proportions, and the impact of data breaches on multi-location brands, individual franchisees, and other small businesses can be devastating and unrecoverable. In fact, the National Small Business Association stated that half of 675 small businesses were victims of attacks in 2014, an increase of 44 percent from just two years prior. And of those companies, 68 percent reported being hacked at least twice.
Because nothing is more important to a business than keeping its customers’ payment card data secure, PCI compliance is vital for all merchants who accept credit cards. However, becoming and staying compliant is difficult and time consuming. Netsurion has been helping merchants with PCI compliance since the inception of the standard, by providing affordable systems and services that help make compliance easier and efficient.
In addition, Netsurion’s centrally-managed firewall network allows control over outbound network traffic, preventing data from being sent to malicious sites and countries, as well as denying traffic requests containing other potential vulnerabilities.
“CoCard is owned and managed by ISOs for the benefit of the individual ISO. Our mission is to provide a pathway for ISOs and agent resellers to maximize individual business strategies within the payment processing arena and enhance the overall economic return for all members,” said Ray Raya, a vice president at CoCard. “We’re excited to offer Netsurion’s services alongside our own—giving our customers state-of-the-art essentials for merchant processing, security and compliance, all under one roof.”
“Businesses of all sizes, especially those that lack their own IT resources, should have access to, and benefit from, enterprise-level network security,” said Mark Cline, vice president of channel sales at Netsurion. “Our partnership will make this a reality for merchants nationwide. We look forward to working with all of the CoCard offices to keep customers’ brands protected from both internal and external threats, at a fraction of the cost of a self-managed solution.”
The partnership is now active and available. For more information, visit www.netsurion.com and www.cocard.net.

About CoCard
Since 1999, CoCard has been a company made up of like-minded, owner-operated, sub-ISOs, that formed an entity similar to a co-op. CoCard’s purposes and structure enable it to capitalize on collective bargaining benefits and a mutually leveraged exit strategy. CoCard is managed by member volunteers with more than 100 years of industry experience who dedicate their time to serving on a board and committees, a full time General Manager, and a dedicated staff headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. Because its paid staff is small and operating expenses are low, CoCard is able to pass the savings on to its members and its merchants.
