Noor Companies said it acquired New York-based mover FlatRate and plans to build the business through company-run locations and U.S. franchises, extending its moving services into markets across the country.

The Oct. 15 announcement named no purchase price or transaction structure. Noor gave no closing date or details on steps needed to complete the acquisition. It also disclosed no franchise launch date, location target, fees or operating rules.

Noor said FlatRate will keep its name while it develops moving, logistics and warehousing operations. The company presented the deal as an extension of its staffing and workforce-management expertise into logistics.

Habib Noor, who founded Noor Enterprise and is its sole principal, said FlatRate’s growth plan includes Noor-run sites as well as franchise locations.

FlatRate’s website traces the business to 1991 and describes its New York pricing model as an inclusive set rate for a move. The company lists local, long-distance and international moves, as well as storage.
