Nvidia is considering potentially billions of dollars in credit backing for an Nscale-operated data center intended for Anthropic, against a financing gap Nscale had disclosed for its Anthropic infrastructure.
Nscale’s September filing showed it had no binding financing commitments for infrastructure needed to fulfill its Anthropic contracts. EconoTimes previously examined the funding gap around those contracts.
Nvidia has previously disclosed guarantees with combined potential gross exposure of $108.5 billion. One guarantee, capped at $105 billion, concerns SB Energy’s leases for an Ohio campus intended to support OpenAI’s initial 4.25 gigawatts of IT capacity. The other $3.5 billion relates to selected AI cloud partners’ commitments for land, power and building shells.
Separately, Nscale said Sept. 25 that $2.36 billion of its $3.36 billion convertible financing had closed, with an additional $1 billion from Nvidia expected in mid-November. The announcement did not say whether the financing would cover needs tied to the Anthropic contracts.
