OKX has opened an Exchange OS API for developers and professional trading teams, adding programmable access to the exchange’s onchain spot and perpetual markets for software-based trading systems.

Connected systems can retrieve market information, manage orders and run trading strategies onchain. The service uses a self-custody model, while onchain records provide a way to check associated trading activity.

The API follows Exchange OS’s earlier deployment on X Layer, where the framework covered spot, perpetual and outcome markets. OKX’s app-based beta for simulated spot and perpetual trading began Oct. 15 with free, nonwithdrawable XP, as described in the Oct. 15 public beta launch.

During the beta, users who meet campaign requirements can make prediction trades with free XP, join leaderboard activities and test automated strategies through the API.
