Market data put Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) below its 20-day moving average at the Oct. 21 close despite a modest gain, while providers disagreed on the session’s high.

Investing.com listed the Indian oil and gas producer’s close at ₹225.32, up ₹0.32, or 0.14%, from ₹225.00 on Oct. 19, the previous trading session. Dhan listed the 20-day simple moving average at ₹227.18, putting the reported close ₹1.86 below that level.

The session-high figures lead to different conclusions about whether ONGC traded above the average. Dhan reported a high of ₹227.20, or ₹0.02 above its average. Investing.com’s historical price table listed a high of ₹226.95, which is ₹0.23 below the average, although the site’s day-range display also showed ₹227.20.

A simple moving average is calculated from closing prices over a set number of trading sessions. The 20 closes in Investing.com’s data from Sept. 21 through Oct. 19 average ₹227.18 when rounded to two decimal places, matching Dhan’s reading.
