The Office for National Statistics (ONS) published provisional neonatal mortality figures for England and Wales on Friday, extending the quarterly series through March 2026 and showing results across population groups.
The release covers data from January 2019 to March 2026. Tables report neonatal death totals and mortality rates across gestational-age categories, maternal ages, ethnicities and levels of area deprivation.
The tables also include counts of live births and stillbirths, along with stillbirth rates. The ONS has not announced when its next release will appear.
