As of Oct. 22, motorists in the United Arab Emirates faced October petrol prices above Dh4 per liter for every grade, while the committee’s Sept. 30 announcement did not specify November rates.
The Gasoline and Diesel Prices Follow-up Committee set Super 98 at Dh4.40 per liter, Special 95 at Dh4.28 and E-Plus 91 at Dh4.21. Diesel was Dh4.80. The committee issued its October schedule Sept. 30, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM). At the Special 95 rate, a 60-liter fill costs Dh256.80.
The UAE introduced monthly fuel-price reviews when it deregulated prices effective Aug. 1, 2015. Then-energy minister Suhail Al Mazroui said the policy would compare prices with international averages before rates took effect each month. ADNOC Distribution says the calculation also includes average international gasoline and diesel prices, transportation, distribution and operating costs. Brent crude’s daily movement alone therefore does not determine what drivers pay at UAE fuel stations.
Brent futures reached $110.85 per barrel at 6:48 a.m. ET (10:48 GMT) Wednesday, Oct. 21, before settling at $108.82, Reuters reported. West Texas Intermediate settled at $97.15 that day. The U.S. Energy Information Administration said commercial crude inventories fell by 3.1 million barrels from the prior week to 412.5 million barrels in the week ended Oct. 16.
Goldman Sachs Research’s Oct. 16 outlook put Brent at $90 a barrel in December 2026 and estimated Persian Gulf exports had been near their 2025 average since late September. The research warned that renewed escalation could keep prices elevated. Its outlook concerns crude oil, not UAE retail fuel rates.
The committee’s next monthly review will set November prices. The October announcement did not specify when the next rates would be released.
