Basketball star LeBron James has given a unique gift to his fans this year – a 12-minute VR film, "Striving for Greatness: An Uninterrupted Original", directed by renowned VR studio Felix & Paul, and developed by Oculus Studios and Uninterrupted, the multimedia content production company co-founded by James.
The video clip features James during his intense training sessions and also includes interviews with his trainers. Variety reported that Uninterrupted released some of the clips used in the film as part of Facebook’s new 360-degree video initiative, but this is the first time that it is available for a VR headset.
It debuted Christmas Day on Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus. The VR experience is available for download on the Oculus store. It can also be watched through Samsung’s Milk VR app.
“You’ll get about 12 minutes out of the virtual reality experience, which is a great demo of the Gear VR itself, and what’s to come from the likes of the producers when they tie in iconic stars like LeBron James”, says TechCrunch.
