Residents seeking to leave Russian-held Oleshky will have a designated departure window as an aid convoy stands ready to enter the town, Russian and Ukrainian officials said.
The announcements were issued Oct. 29 by Russia's human rights commissioner Yana Lantratova and Ukraine's human rights commissioner Dmytro Lubinets. They said the mission's routes had been cleared and the convoy was ready to depart.
Officials outlined three parts of the mission: a hospital stop, a designated window for civilian departures and aid distribution. They said arrangements would be made to protect civilians during departures.
Earlier, Ukraine and Russia said the localized ceasefire had taken effect as mission preparations began, while Lubinets said the plan covered demining, aid and civilian movement. EconoTimes reported on that initial stage of the mission. It later covered the convoy's readiness after mine clearance, with the latest statements adding a defined departure window and safety arrangements.
