Previous manga chapters have repeatedly teased about the reunion of Luffy and Trafalgar Law. The only problem is fans were only given glimpses of Law but not his actual arrival where Luffy is. But “One Piece” chapter 917 is possibly going to have a different story.
However, the incident that ensures Luffy and Law’s reunion is rather unfortunate. It can be recalled that Bepo got severely sick after eating fish in the poisoned river in chapter 916. But on the brighter side, Bepo can still be cured and fans can only hope that it is happening in “One Piece” chapter 917.
In the beginning of the Wano arc, Tama was almost dying for the same reason that made Bepo sick. After a couple of chapters, Luffy, Tama, and Zoro met Kiku and Tsuru. The two women helped Tama with a herbal tea brew, which instantly cured the young girl. And since Kiku is with Luffy in Bakura, this could be a hint that Law, Bepo, and the other Heart Pirates will be arriving in the Wano district in “One Piece” chapter 917 to find a remedy for the sick polar bear mink.
On the other hand, fans also need to consider the fact that Basil Hawkins has already spotted the Heart Pirates and is preparing to approach them in chapter 916. This poses a threat that Law and his crew will have to go through Hawkins first before even continuing their travel to reach Luffy. While this could once again delay Law and Luffy's reunion, the possibility of another battle with Hawkins could also be a nice plot for “One Piece” chapter 917.
The bigger possibility of Luffy and Law reuniting in “One Piece” chapter 917 is exciting. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait longer than usual to read the next chapter as creator Eiichiro Oda announced that there will be a brief hiatus after chapter 916.
The delay, on the other hand, could also be a hint that another epic battle awaits. Since Luffy and Holdem finally met in chapter 916, an explosive fight is likely going to take place. All things considered, two possible battles — Holdem vs. Luffy and/or Hawkins vs. Law — could happen in “One Piece” chapter 917. The next manga chapter will be officially released on Sept. 15 along with the Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 42.
