“One Piece” Episode 885 will not be featuring heavy action sequences. Instead, it will be setting up several plotlines for the upcoming arc with a few tension peppered throughout the story.
One particular complication that will rear its head on “One Piece” Episode 885 is the foolish actions of Charlos. Obsessed with mermaids and their beauty, the noble will openly attempt to enslave Shirahoshi, sparking trouble amidst the gathering.
Neptune – having witnessed this affront – proceeds to attack Charlos and CP-0 to uphold his daughter’s dignity. Before things spiral out of control, Saint Donquixote Mjosgard takes immediate action and clobbers Charlos on his head with a mace. He then apologizes to the Merfolk for Charlos’ actions and tries his best to dispel the tension, highlighting the massive personality shift of the character. Thwarted and embarrassed, Charlos will start resenting Mjosgard for what he did and vows to get even against his fellow noble in the future. Apart from this brief skirmish, “One Piece,” Episode 885 will also be exploring the dark secret of Mary Geoise.
The secret in question is the slaves that are being kept underneath the capital, overworking them to keep various machinations from functioning. This method is quite curious since there is technological advancement in the world that would eliminate the need for such atrocity. But that is neither here nor there. In “One Piece” Episode 885, an unnamed character will be exploring the capital’s depths to find out about the slave labor, with a plot twist that’s set to shock fans.
Or at least, those who haven’t read the manga yet. The previous release already spoiled this fact when it hinted that “a giant straw hat” is lurking beneath the capital’s pristine streets. It’s still unclear why the anime chose to spoil this narrative and fans of the series are both annoyed and curious about the reveal. Whatever the case, “One Piece” Episode 885 will move forward with the current plot and will be unveiling a shocking truth about the capital and its slave labor. As for when it will be released, the next episode will be available on May 19.
