There are still several months away from the premiere of “One Punch Man” season 2. But, luckily, many details about the next anime series installment were already released including the main villain and its release date.
Fans who have seen all episodes in season 1 might already have an idea who is going to be the big baddie in “One Punch Man” season 2. In the season finale episode titled “Unparalleled Peril,” Bang tells Saitama and Genos the story of Garou.
Bang recalled Garou being his best student who was even able to defeat all the other top students in his class at the time. In this sequence, Garou was shown in his silhouette image and fans can already tell that he will play a major role in “One Punch Man” season 2.
Garou’s main villain status was confirmed when the official teasers for “One Punch Man” season 2 were released last August. In the first-ever official trailer, fans heard the exchange of lines between Saitama and Garou. And those made it clearer that Garou’s mission is to unleash monsters and hunt down all heroes.
Aside from the plot, fans of anime series are also always excited about the opening and closing theme songs. The same goes for “One Punch Man” season 2 and fans will be happy to know that they will be hearing a familiar voice for the second season.
It was confirmed earlier this month that the theme song for “One Punch Man” season 2 will be recorded by the Japanese band JAM Project. They are the same artist who worked on “The Hero” theme song for season 1.

“Just like ‘The Hero’ from the first season, I’m working on something that will get everybody super pumped up. It’ll be the greatest opening theme song. You can count on it,” guitarist and JAM Project founding member Hironobu Kageyama said about the “One Punch Man” season 2 theme song.
As mentioned, fans will have to wait a few more months for the return of the anime series that gained popularity worldwide. As of now, the only detail confirmed about “One Punch Man” season 2 release date is that it is happening in April 2019.
