Sarah Friar said OpenAI’s current financing carries a valuation almost one-and-a-half times that of its completed March round.

The Financial Times previously reported that OpenAI was seeking $20 billion at a $1.25 trillion valuation. That figure was a proposed fundraising target, not a confirmed amount raised. EconoTimes covered the reported funding target and valuation.

Bloomberg’s Sept. 29 account put an earlier fundraising goal at $30 billion or more and OpenAI’s valuation near $1.4 trillion before new funding, according to EconoTimes’ earlier coverage. In a separate CNBC interview on Friday, Nov. 6, Friar said the company’s business grew 70% quarter over quarter in the third quarter and its enterprise business doubled. Separately, Friar said OpenAI’s current funding round remains open.
