Oracle is expanding Fusion Data Intelligence with AI agents and operational reporting, giving customers tools to question business data now while deeper analysis remains on a 12-month roadmap.

Oracle announced the additions Oct. 27 at Oracle AI World in Las Vegas. Data Agents are generally available. Fusion Operational Analytics is available on a limited basis, while general availability for Deep Insight Agents is planned within the next 12 months.

Data Agents let users ask questions in plain language about information in Fusion Data Intelligence through a conversational feature embedded in the dashboard they are viewing. Deep Insight Agents are designed to take on broader business questions, pursue follow-up queries and examine possible performance drivers, wider effects and responses. Oracle says the planned agents will draw on business definitions, data relationships, enterprise context and approved analytical methods.

Fusion Operational Analytics combines business analysis with reporting on activity across finance, supply chain, human resources and customer operations. Oracle documentation describes it as an add-on that queries current transactional data in Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications through supported Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) subject areas.

The announcement also includes Fusion AI Agents and agentic applications for use within Fusion Applications, an integration to compare Enterprise Performance Management budgets and forecasts with Enterprise Resource Planning actuals, and analytics for Oracle E-Business Suite customers moving to Fusion Applications. Oracle lists Oracle E-Business Suite Data Intelligence and Fusion Data Intelligence for U.S. Government among its generally available offerings. The government service is for eligible customers in supported FedRAMP-authorized Oracle government cloud environments.

Oracle describes Fusion Data Intelligence as a platform for its Fusion Cloud Applications that brings together managed data flows, business definitions, security controls, packaged performance measures, analytics and AI. The company says this context is intended to help AI interpret connections among business information, processes and performance, while reducing the work teams spend building and maintaining the data foundation. “AI is only as useful as its understanding of your business,” said Srikant Gokulnatha, a senior vice president at Oracle.

Oracle gave no firm date for Deep Insight Agents’ release and said product schedules may change.
