Pakistan’s military said its forces killed 10 people it identified as terrorists in Gwadar after attempted attacks on Oct. 22, and separately reported that a civilian was killed.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, identified two locations for the attempted attacks: near the Gabd Border Crossing and in Gwadar city. It said security forces then carried out clearance operations.
ISPR alleged that the attackers had Indian backing and used the name “Fitna al Hindustan” for the group. It also said a Baloch woman had been coerced into taking part. The military said the attackers aimed to endanger local residents and obstruct development in Balochistan. ISPR reported no security-force deaths and said several vehicles were damaged.
During a visit to Corps Headquarters in Peshawar, Field Marshal Asim Munir said Pakistan would continue operations against groups the military accuses of Indian backing. ISPR said the campaign would continue under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision.
The report follows earlier military accounts of violence in the province. EconoTimes previously covered the death of Major Wajahat Waheed and a separate Kalat operation, in which the military said four people were killed.
