Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar urged continued diplomatic engagement with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Thursday, as regional efforts seek a settlement after fighting resumed in July.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said Dar and Araghchi reviewed recent regional developments. Dar called on all sides to sustain diplomatic work, saying it was needed to improve the prospects for peace and stability, the ministry said.
Anadolu Agency reported that a ceasefire followed the Feb. 28 U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran. Regional mediation led to a memorandum of understanding in June, the report said, but the agreement later broke down and fighting resumed in July.
Diplomatic efforts are continuing to find a settlement and prevent the conflict from spreading, Anadolu Agency reported.
