Pandora, one of the world’s leading music discovery platforms, launched on Monday Thumbprint Radio – a hyper-personalized station for every listener.
Pandora features a thumbs-up icon through which users show their preference and likeness. The Thumbprint Radio Station is a platform based on individual thumbing history, meaning it will contain all the tracks that a user has thumbed-up overtime (10 minutes to 10 years ago). Pandora said it will also continue to add new songs based on user preference.
“Every thumb up you have provided throughout the time you have listened on Pandora has helped create your individual Thumbprint Radio station. This is a living, breathing station that will continue to change as you listen – each time you thumb up a track on Pandora, your station will update and evolve”, said Chris Phillips, Chief Product Officer, Pandora said in a statement.
Also, users will be able to listen to varied genres including country, EDM, metal and much more. Pandora’s curator team will “seamlessly” guide listeners through the wide variety of their favorites, while weaving in new music discovery along the way.
Users can also share their individual Thumbprint Radio Station their friends. Once shared, the station will dynamically update for according to their preferences, meaning the creation of new, personalized station.
“Thumbprint Radio is a collaboration between each listener and Pandora,” said Chris Phillips, Chief Product Officer at Pandora. “You shared with us what music you love via all your thumbs, and we heard you. We have combined all your favorites with music we know you’ll love to create a new station that reflects your unique musical thumbprint.”
To access Thumbprint Radio station, users need to go to http://pdora.co/thumbprintradio or search for “Thumbprint Radio” in the mobile app, the press release said.
