The U.S. Army has awarded Pegasystems a software agreement with a ceiling of $419 million, giving authorized military organizations access to workflow tools over a possible decade.

The Army lists the maximum value as $419,008,835.54. That figure sets an upper limit; actual spending will depend on the orders the service places.

Orders may be placed during an initial five-year period, followed by a five-year option. Funding and work locations will be set for each order. The Army made the award Oct. 29 and estimates work will finish Oct. 28, 2036.

The Army's procurement justification named Pegasystems the only responsible source, citing the company's ownership of the platform's source code, visual framework for low-code development and rules engine. The Army received one bid.

The agreement is an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity vehicle covering subscriptions, Pega Cloud for Government hosting, technical support and outcome-based professional services. Authorized Army and Department of War (DoW) organizations can access the software and services. Listed uses include case management and AI-driven decision-making, as well as low-code application development and business process management.

Pegasystems announced the award Nov. 4.
