Days before Alaska voters choose a senator, Hindustan Times reported that Sen. Dan Sullivan’s campaign X account was suspended, a claim that remains unverified outside that outlet.
The outlet said @DanSullivan_AK displayed a suspension notice Friday, Oct. 30, citing X rules on inauthentic accounts. It attributed an image of the notice to Will Courtney of Alaska’s News Source.
Chris Olmstead, a regional political director for Senate Republicans, accused Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola and people associated with her campaign of reporting the account for impersonation, Hindustan Times reported. The allegation is unverified; the report did not establish who contacted X or what prompted the platform’s action.
An unnamed Peltola campaign spokesperson denied that the campaign tried to have Sullivan’s account suspended, the outlet reported. That denial also remains unverified beyond Hindustan Times’ account.
X’s authenticity policy lists impersonation and inauthentic account activity among prohibited conduct, but it does not explain the action against Sullivan’s account. The Alaska Division of Elections says voters will rank candidates in the Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, general election.
