Arini Capital Management received bids from Pacific Investment Management Co. (Pimco) and Oaktree Capital Management for some high-yield debt holdings as its flagship fund was down about 26% in 2026 through Oct. 23, Bloomberg reported.
Bloomberg said Arini had already sold some debt tied to large speculative-grade companies, while dealers weighed additional sales. People familiar with the matter described the assets under review as relatively easy to sell and stronger performers. The report cited Sabre Corp. debt as one example.
The flagship fund had $7.5 billion under management at the end of July, Bloomberg reported. A separate Bloomberg report said the fund was down 12% in October through Oct. 23. Bloomberg described the discussions around the bids as preliminary and said a transaction was not assured.
Arini said in an Oct. 21 announcement that it managed $22 billion across its strategies as of Aug. 31, 2026. That firm-wide total covers a different scope and date from Bloomberg’s figure for the flagship fund.
Bloomberg cited rising global interest rates, higher energy prices and artificial intelligence threats as pressures on Arini’s holdings. The report gave no timetable for a sale or another decision. Pimco and Oaktree representatives declined to comment, while an Arini spokesperson was unavailable, Bloomberg reported.
