Philadelphia, PA, Jan. 31, 2018 -- PolicyPak Software, the leader in desktop settings management for Windows desktops, today announced the release of PolicyPak Start Screen and Taskbar Manager. The new product easily lets IT admins place Desktop, Windows Universal and Edge tiles into the desired Start Screen groups; keeping specified groups locked so users cannot work around them. PolicyPak enables users to instantly launch Windows 10 and applications rather than searching for icons on the Start Menu.

The Windows 10 Start Menu can be a challenge to configure. Instead of leaving the Start Menu to users, PolicyPak empowers IT to take control of selecting specific applications that should go into Windows 10 Start Screen Groups. Using Group Policy, SCCM or your MDM service, PolicyPak makes it faster to manage what icons are placed within the Windows 10 Start Screen and/or pinned to the Windows 10 Taskbar
Benefits of Start Screen and Taskbar Manager include:
- Add Windows Desktop, Universal apps or edge tiles to corporate groups.
- Remove or maintain user’s existing groups.
- Instantly pin (or remove) applications to the Windows Taskbar.
- Ensure users have quick access to the most important applications.
- Use Item level targeting to identify "Who Should Get What" Start Menu items
- Automatically add/remove icons based upon conditions.
- Deploy Windows 10 Start Screen and Taskbar specifications using Group Policy, SCCM or an MDM service.
- Deliver Windows 10 Start Screen and Taskbar manager specifications to non-domain joined machines using PolicyPak Cloud.
“The Windows taskbar is a convenient place for storing frequently used apps as well as apps that you currently have open, but it can also be a beast to configure and maintain,” said Jeremy Moskowitz, founder and CEO, PolicyPak Software. “Instead of leaving the Start Menu to the default or up to users, we place the IT admin in charge.”
