Polish headline inflation remains flat in August

Headline inflation in Poland remained flat in August as food prices were not able to bring aggregate price level higher. Therefore, the headline inflation continued to be flat on monthly basis, which suggests that it was almost unchanged at 2.8 percent level in year-on-year terms.

Since fuel and electricity price dropped again, the overall index was underpinned by steady core inflation. The core inflation came in at 2.1 percent year-on-year in August, while it remained unchanged in sequential terms.
