Prediction-market activity reached a record $123.6 billion in October, with notional volume running 58% above September, according to a Nov. 5 analysis by a16z Frontier.
The firm compared October’s tally with a combined $82 billion for 2024 and 2025, making the latest month about 1.5 times that two-year total.
a16z Frontier said a separate measure based on buyers’ outlay reached $22.7 billion in October. That exceeded the $20.9 billion recorded for all of 2025 under the same measure, a16z Frontier said.
The two totals use different valuation methods for parlay contracts. The calculation values parlay contracts by their purchase cost, rather than by their $1 payout, a16z Frontier explained. The figures therefore describe trading activity on different bases.
EconoTimes previously covered third-quarter prediction-market fee estimates, a separate measure of activity in the sector.
