Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle initially work under the same foundation that the princes founded, in 2009, before they were married. Kate joined them when she married the Duke of Cambridge and later the former “Suits” actress joined in as well after tying the knot with Harry and becoming the Duchess of Sussex.
In the early days, they were called the “fab 4” and many people like the idea of the four of them working together and carrying out their royal duties under one foundation. However, things had changed last year, and in early 2019, it was announced that the Cambridges and the Sussexes will split up.
Rumors about the split - what caused the fab 4 to break up?
As Express reported, the Meghan Markle and Prince Harry officially left the foundation that they originally shared with Kate Middleton and Prince William. As proof of the split, the documents released by House Companies do not show the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s names anymore.
Moreover, they have removed traces or mention of Archie’s parents plus the foundation was now simply called The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. It was originally called the Royal Foundation of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge & Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Sussexes opens their own foundation
Meghan and Prince Harry then established their own foundation after the Queen’s approval. As confirmed by People, the couple’s organization has been named “Sussex Royal The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
It was said that the separation of the Fab 4 was due to their wishes to take different paths in their charity works. They said that they have to cover different outlets to address more issues, but there were rumors flying around that the split was caused by Prince William and Harry’s rift.
Prince William wants to work with the Sussexes again
Prior to the break up of the Fab 4, Prince William mentioned that it would be great if he and Kate would be able to work with Harry and Meghan again. Based on the report, the Duke of Cambridge admitted that he thinks it would be wonderful to work with brother and sister-in-law again.
“I think we’ve looked at ways of collaborating again,” he said. “I think it would be wonderful if we could do another project or another campaign with similar impact as ‘Heads Together’ or you know as a unit, as a family, but I think we’ve got to be careful how and when we target those moments and use them carefully.”
In any case, royal experts stated that it would be hard for the Fab 4 to reunite again since they have divided their households and foundations. They are also tackling different things, so working together is not feasible as of now.
