THE WOODLANDS, Texas, Dec. 05, 2016 -- LGI Homes, Inc. (NASDAQ:LGIH) was recently named the 2016 Builder of the Year by Professional Builder, home building’s leading business publication.
Established in 1965, the Builder of the Year program has over a half-century history in the home building industry. This esteemed honor recognizes innovative home builders whose ideas and business results represent the best in home building.
“We would like to thank the team at Professional Builder for recognizing LGI Homes as the 2016 Builder of the Year. We are incredibly proud of this honor and believe it is a true testament to our systems and processes, which have allowed us to grow and scale over the years. Most importantly, we would like to thank our 606 employees and our 15,000 customers, without you this achievement would not be possible,” said Eric Lipar, LGI Homes’ Chief Executive Officer.
The LGI Homes executive team was honored during an awards luncheon at the 2016 Professional Builder’s Housing Giants Leadership Conference, held in October at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California.
LGI Homes, founded in 2003, posted more than $630 million in revenue (an increase of 64.5% over 2014) and 3,404 closings in 2015. In the past four years, it has climbed in the rankings from #57 in 2013 to #25 in the 2016 Housing Giants List of the largest builders in the United States.
“Since its founding in 2003, LGI has consistently grown its closings, revenues, and profit, even during the recession,” says Professional Builder Editorial Director Denise Dersin. “The company’s finely developed direct mail marketing system and concise sales and construction processes have allowed it to be able to dependably provide attractive and attainable homes to an ever-growing number of entry-level buyers. With a mission statement of ‘keep it simple,’ this firm has developed a program that works and has remained loyal to it.”
LGI Homes is the 50th builder to be honored as the Builder of the Year by Professional Builder. The winning company is selected by the magazine’s editors, with input from a select group of industry executives.
