The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) set a ₹14,425 redemption price for each unit of its 2018-19 Series-II Sovereign Gold Bonds, which mature Oct. 23, 2026.

Each bond unit represents one gram of gold under the scheme, making ₹14,425 the redemption value for that unit. The RBI’s Oct. 22 announcement names Oct. 23, 2026, as the tranche’s final redemption date.

To set the payout, the RBI used the simple average of three published 999-purity gold closing figures from the India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd. (IBJA): those dated Oct. 19, Oct. 21 and Oct. 22, 2026.

The RBI issued the tranche on Oct. 23, 2018, and its eight-year term ends on the redemption date. Scheme rules set fixed interest at 2.50% per year on nominal value, paid every six months; the last installment is due when the principal is repaid.
