PASADENA, Calif., Sept. 07, 2017 -- NextGate, a global leader in patient and provider identification, announced today that Radiology and Imaging Specialists (RIS) has selected its Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) solution to merge and de-duplicate patient records from various imaging centers and hospitals. NextGate will implement its market-leading EMPI technology to bring RIS a consolidated enterprise view of a patient’s data and imaging files.
Known as Central Florida’s premier radiology provider, RIS is comprised of five full-service imaging centers and conducts radiology services for multiple regional hospitals, including Lakeland Regional Health and Winter Haven Hospital.
The NextGate EMPI solution will reconcile over one million patient records and correlate diagnostic images, including x-rays, CT scans and MRIs, to the same patient. Patient matching algorithms in the EMPI unify data and medical imaging from multiple sources to give RIS providers a longitudinal patient record at the point of care. Additionally, the EMPI assigns each individual a unique patient identifier that serves as cross-reference for accurate exchange of patient information and treatment plans across the continuum. This network of integrated information simplifies the process of properly linking all relevant imaging documents and historic information for improved clinical decision making, care coordination and patient satisfaction.
“Imaging is a critical part of diagnosis for many patients and we are dedicated to arming our physicians with reliable, accurate information so care is optimized for every individual. That requires a trusted identity management solution to ensure the right data on the right patient is delivered at the right time,” said Alan Hite, Chief Technology Officer of RIS. “We’re very pleased to partner with NextGate to provide RIS a holistic patient record to help drive better clinical, operational, and financial outcomes—and most importantly, provide the best possible care for our patients.”
NextGate’s EMPI will provide RIS with:
- A single source of reference for patient identity management across five source systems
- Automated patient record matching in real-time
- De-identification processes for reporting and analytics
- Standard IHE and API services for integration with current and future RIS applications
- Seamless data integration and electronic image linking across all five full-service imaging centers and participating hospitals.
“RIS is an innovative radiology provider dedicated to delivering the best possible care to their community and empowering their clinical teams with the right technology for meaningful, actionable patient information,” said Andy Aroditis, CEO of NextGate. “We are proud to partner with RIS to bring consistency to their patient data and diagnostic imaging records to reduce errors, improve care coordination, and enhance the overall healthcare experience.”
