Actor Ranbir Kapoor compared Tesla’s Roadster with the Pushpaka Vimana during a promotional interaction for Ramayana: Part One, NDTV Profit reported, as the film nears its November release.
The Cinema Ledger posted a clip on X on Saturday, Oct. 31, transcribing Kapoor as saying, “I think India did it 5,000 years back with Pushpak Vimaan!” The post attributes the comparison to Pushpak Vimaan; NDTV Profit rendered the remark with different wording.
Tesla demonstrated the Roadster’s thrusters at an Oct. 15 event. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said, “We enter production in 2028,” setting a production target. The statement did not give a delivery date.
Tesla lists the Rocket as an invite-only, one-seat trim. The company says thrusters around the car’s perimeter are designed to provide forward thrust, lift and sideways movement. Tesla also says the Rocket is not approved for public-road use. Its other listed versions are the two-seat Performance and Thrust trims, with rear cold-gas thrusters on the latter.
Tesla’s reservation terms say the car remains in development, with its final price and features unsettled. The company also says it cannot guarantee when deliveries will begin, so the 2028 statement concerns production rather than buyer deliveries.
Prime Focus Studios lists a worldwide cinema release for Ramayana: Part One on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, and JioStar’s Oct. 21 announcement also gives Nov. 5. A Sony Pictures trailer published in August advertises Friday, Nov. 6; the announcements offer no explanation for the one-day difference. Prime Focus describes the film as the first installment of a two-part live-action adaptation directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
