Reliance Industries Limited said profit attributable to owners rose 40.6% for the September quarter compared with a year earlier, as higher Oil-to-Chemicals (O2C) earnings contributed to stronger consolidated results.
The company’s unaudited consolidated results cover the quarter and half-year ended Sept. 30, 2026, and were announced Oct. 30, the date of the board’s scheduled results review. Profit attributable to owners was Rs 25,548 crore (Rs 255.48 billion), compared with Rs 18,165 crore in the year-ago quarter. Revenue from operations reached Rs 332,861 crore, up from Rs 258,898 crore.
Gross revenue, a separate measure, increased 27.8% to Rs 362,268 crore ($37.8 billion). Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 23.9% to Rs 62,409 crore ($6.5 billion), from Rs 50,367 crore. Profit after tax totaled Rs 29,550 crore, up 33.8% from Rs 22,092 crore. The consolidated EBITDA margin narrowed to 17.2% from 17.8% a year earlier.
The profit-after-tax figure and profit attributable to owners are separate measures. O2C recorded revenue of Rs 231,601 crore, a 44.2% increase, while segment EBITDA climbed 67.9% to Rs 25,203 crore.
RIL said firmer fuel cracks and downstream chemical margins supported O2C. Higher crude premiums and freight costs, together with under-recoveries in fuel retailing, eroded some of those gains. Capital expenditure during the quarter was Rs 38,153 crore.
Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh D. Ambani said, “During 2Q FY27, our businesses delivered a strong performance despite a complex operating environment.”
The board authorized up to Rs 15,000 crore in non-convertible debentures through private placement, in one or more tranches. The authorization permits a future issue; it does not establish that the debt has been issued. The company’s earlier board agenda included a proposal to consider raising funds through debt. The results announcement gives no issuance date, tranche size or final terms.
