Published figures place Jio Platforms’ IPO ahead of the National Stock Exchange of India’s 2026 offering and Hyundai Motor India’s 2024 share sale, though reports use different feeds and measures.
UNI, citing final BSE data, put Jio’s closing subscription at 20.38 times, with bids for 402.63 crore shares against 19.75 crore offered. Angel One cited a 22.19-times NSE-linked snapshot at 9:30 a.m. ET (13:30 UTC) Friday, Oct. 23; HDFC Sky reported the same multiple. National Diaries, citing Chittorgarh and other trackers, estimated combined NSE and BSE demand at 21.36 times at 9:58 a.m. ET (13:58 UTC). The figures come from different feeds and measurement times and do not establish a reconciled combined final count.
Business Standard reported that the NSE IPO closed at 5.71 times in September. Moneycontrol reported Hyundai’s public-book subscription at 2.37 times, excluding anchor investors. The NSE basis-of-allotment notice recorded 1.96 times for Hyundai using applications and shares before rejections, and including anchor investor applications.
Jio’s qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) had the strongest reported demand: 63.42 times in UNI’s BSE tally and 70.55 times in Angel One’s NSE-linked snapshot. Business Standard reported 12.68 times for the NSE IPO’s QIB portion, while Moneycontrol reported 6.97 times for Hyundai’s QIB portion. An earlier EconoTimes report covered Jio’s QIB demand during the second day of bidding.
Jio’s red herring prospectus covers up to 270 million new shares, and Reliance Industries set a price band of ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 a share. At the top price, the issue is valued at ₹30,213 crore. Hyundai’s prospectus lists an offer value of ₹278,556.83 million, or about ₹27,856 crore, after the employee discount.
According to Jio’s prospectus, proceeds are earmarked for debt prepayment at Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. and for general corporate purposes. Hyundai Motor Company sold existing shares in Hyundai Motor India’s 2024 offer; its prospectus says Hyundai Motor India would receive no proceeds.
Independent market analyst Ambareesh Baliga told Business Standard, “Jio Platforms IPO demand was much better than anticipated, especially the institutional subscription.” Economic Times’ published IPO schedule lists allotment for Monday, Oct. 26, and listing for Wednesday, Oct. 28.
