The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on Oct. 22 a recall of about 94 CIYTI light-up princess costumes sold on Amazon, citing the risk that children could reach button batteries.

Each set includes a blue dress, a light-up crown and wand, and a remote control. CPSC says the crown, a scepter and the remote contain button batteries. The costumes have no markings, but “CIYTI” appears on the front of the packaging.

The products sold from February through June 2025 for $21 to $35. CPSC identifies FoShanShiNanHaiQuNuoAiTongZhuangShangHang, of China, as the retailer and says the costumes were made in China. The agency says children’s access to the batteries violates a mandatory toy-safety standard. CPSC guidance describes the standard as the version of ASTM F963 incorporated into 16 C.F.R. Part 1250.

CPSC’s notice lists no reported incidents or injuries. It advises consumers to take the costumes away from children, stop using them and contact the retailer for a full refund. For the refund process, consumers will be asked to mark “RECALLED” on the dress, crown, wand and remote, discard the items, then email a photo of them to Norakid2026@outlook.com. The agency says batteries should be disposed of or recycled under local hazardous-waste procedures.
