Ripple announced new tools for corporate treasury operations on Oct. 26, pairing AI-assisted cash management with a program that may let eligible firms earn returns on digital assets beyond banking hours.
Unveiled at Swell 2026, the expansion adds an orchestration layer built with GSmart and a feature Ripple calls “24/7 Returns.” Ripple said the system brings forecasting and reconciliation into workflows that also cover cash positioning, liquidity decisions and payments. It is designed to help treasury teams act on cash-management decisions through payment workflows, the company said.
Under 24/7 Returns, customers who meet program requirements may earn returns on qualifying digital assets held in a Ripple wallet. Ripple named Ripple USD (RLUSD), its U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, as one such asset. The announcement does not specify whether XRP qualifies. Ripple said customers can use the feature without handling the related digital-asset transactions themselves. The company did not disclose a return rate, calculation method, detailed eligibility rules, program costs or availability date. The feature is intended to cover nights, weekends and holidays, when banks may be closed.
“The way businesses move money is changing, and treasury needs to evolve with it,” said Renaat Ver Eecke, senior vice president of Ripple Treasury.
The Association for Financial Professionals’ (AFP) 2026 Liquidity Survey offers a picture of corporate cash management: 46% of participating organizations had increased U.S. cash balances by March 2026, compared with 38% a year earlier. The March survey included 309 treasury professionals from U.S. organizations. AFP cited stronger operating cash flow and domestic political and regulatory risks among the factors behind higher cash holdings.
The survey also found interest in around-the-clock access to liquidity. AFP reported that 86% of organizations would select real-time money market funds if the funds complied with their investment policies. Separately, 41% of organizations expected money market funds to offer 24/7 liquidity, up from 38% in 2025.
Use of newer digital products remained limited in the survey: 1% of organizations were piloting or using stablecoins and tokenized products in a limited capacity, while 9% were exploring them.
