“Riverdale” Season 3 just went on a break right after episode 3 and it was completely out of the blue. Naturally, this resulted in fans getting outraged that such an interruption had occurred without any warning whatsoever. This is even more upsetting to a lot of viewers because, to many of them, this was one of the most highly anticipated episodes of the series.
In the promo clip featuring episode 4 of “Riverdale” Season 3, it was teased that viewers were going to be taken back in time, with the focus being on the younger versions of the gang’s parents. This would have put the timeline in the 80s when the so-called “The Midnight Club” was formed.
“When Betty (Lili Reinhart) confronts Alice (Madchen Amick) about Gryphons and Gargoyles, Alice has no choice but to come clean about how she, along with a young Fred (KJ Apa), FP (Cole Sprouse), Hermoine (Camila Mendes), Hiram (guest star Michael Consuelos), Sierra (Ashleigh Murray), Penelope (Madelaine Petsch) and Tom (Casey Cott), played the game in the early 90’s – and how a shocking mystery has been plaguing them all ever since,” the clip’s description reads.
However, instead of airing this week, the episode was pushed back so that it will instead air on Nov. 7. This constitutes a one week break for “Riverdale” Season 3 that simply came out of the blue. This is where the root of the fan outrage is coming from. As The Daily Express reports, fans turned to social media to voice their anger at the sudden disappearance of their beloved show.
The biggest issue is that this could have been avoided if it was simply announced that there would be a “Riverdale” Season 3 break. Having to wait one week for what is likely to be the show’s most intriguing episode yet would not have been that big of a deal.
