ISELIN, N.J., Oct. 11, 2017 -- Middlesex Water Company (NASDAQ:MSEX), a provider of water, wastewater and related utility services, is pleased to announce that its Corporate Controller, Rob Capko, was selected the winner among finalists selected in the Rising Star category in the 2017 NJBIZ CFO of the Year Awards. The awards were presented by NJBIZ, New Jersey's premier business news publication.
This CFO of the Year awards program celebrates New Jersey’s standout financial executives at all levels who contribute to the success of New Jersey’s economic growth and stability. Winners were announced during an awards breakfast and ceremony on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, New Jersey at which all finalists were recognized.

Since joining Middlesex Water in 2009 as Corporate Controller, Mr. Capko has played a key role in transforming the Company’s manual financial reporting processes into a timely and efficient management tool. He served as finance subject matter expert and Accounting Department project leader in a company-wide Enterprise Resource Planning system implementation which has since resulted in improved business analytics as well as shortened monthly, quarterly and annual closing cycles for enhanced internal and external reporting. Off hours, Rob volunteers as a soccer coach in his hometown of Summit, NJ.
CFO of the Year Awards finalists were selected in six categories: Non-Profit Organization – Large Group, Non-Profit Organization – Small Group, Private Company with revenues over $50MM, Private Company with revenues up to $50MM, Public Company and Rising Star.
