Bitget has added Russia and Belarus to its list of restricted jurisdictions, with some affected customers set to receive instructions on withdrawing funds from their accounts.

Bitget said it would contact affected users directly. Each notice will set out the required action, the applicable deadline and how to move funds. Bitget said accounts whose users receive no official notice are outside the change it announced.

The Oct. 16 Terms of Use name Russia and Belarus among the prohibited jurisdictions. Russia and Belarus are the new entries; Kazakhstan, the United States and its territories were already named. The restriction reaches residents, entities established there and businesses operating there.

Bitget has not publicly provided the number of accounts affected, its basis for choosing recipients or the reason for the new restrictions. The exchange has not set a single deadline for all affected accounts.
