Russian strikes on Kyiv killed one person and injured 24 by Thursday morning, city officials said, raising the toll from initial reports of six wounded after attacks continued overnight.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko initially said six people were hurt late Wednesday, four of them hospitalized. The State Emergency Service later reported one death and 22 injuries; a subsequent Kyiv City Military Administration update counted 24 injured, including 16 hospitalized. The two updates gave different injury totals. EconoTimes previously reported the initial six injuries in its earlier account of the attack.

Klitschko reported strikes on a car-service building and a private home in Dniprovskyi district. He said debris also struck a separate residence and came down beside a gas station. He also cited damage to transport infrastructure in Darnytskyi district and part of the metro system on the South Bridge. In Pecherskyi district, damage affected an ambulance station and six ambulances; Klitschko said no medical workers were hurt.

The Ukrainian Air Force said the operation began at 11 a.m. ET Wednesday (15:00 UTC), with Kyiv as its main target. It said the attack involved Iskander-M/S-400, Zircon and Oniks missiles and 210 attack drones. In its 2 a.m. ET Thursday (06:00 UTC) update, the Air Force reported 181 drones shot down or suppressed and 10 still in flight.
